The Spiritual Tree of Wisdom
Without the understanding of oneself, it is very easy to fall into the entrapments of the mind. It is most important that one understands the necessity of having a mind that is free, which requires a full understanding of the working of ones own mentality, thoughts and feelings. You see, when the mind is free and unrestrained with comparative thoughts, there is no such thing as envy, resentment and covetousness. The moment you compare and measure yourself with another, the mind becomes as a river that has stopped its flow. Its waters become dark and murky and then stagnation sets in. As long as ones heart is polluted with the taint of wickedness, there is no wisdom. When there is such darkness, this obscurity perpetuates hatred between man and man. Therefore, it is essential that we all realize that the moment we compare ourselves with others, it is this tainted process, which robs us of our fluid movement of creativity and understanding. Where there is the intelligence of wisdom, there is no measurement between you and another. An intelligent human being has no measure of being good or bad, better or worse, wise or unwise. He has no measure of a man.
Spiritual wisdom is deeply needed in the world.
I do not know if you notice that the word 'wisdom,' is a rarely used utterance throughout the world. Do you ever notice that this word is not used in our everyday language? I do not know if it was ever used copiously by humanity. Have you noticed the fact that most people never use this word? Why is that? Is it because there is no wisdom in the world? Is no one wise? What has become of us as human beings? So, I ask you, what does it mean to be wise? If I am a curious human being, I may ask myself, what is wisdom? Now, the dictionary may define wisdom as being the full application of knowledge, knowing its limitations and having the understanding of knowing when and how to use it in its proper place. If I am unwise, how do I go about becoming wise? If I am unwise, do I know who is? Can I understand something that I am not? Consequently, I ask you, is there a wisdom that is not bound by knowledge, based on experience and age? Is there a wisdom that leaves the mind speechless?
The wisdom of this world is one thing and that which I am speaking of is not. As long as you are concerned with gaining mere subtle answers, you will miss the secret beyond this existence. The great sage is one who seeks the right question that will awaken the realization that will give birth to the right answer, which brings wisdom. To live in this wisdom is to be completely untouched by the darkness of this world. To be spiritual is to live in this tree of wisdom, which is the root in which all life springs forth. In its branches, there is love, beauty, joy and understanding. The wisdom that wells up within you is the untouchable. It is the origin and seed of all. It is the source of all things of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Blessed is he who seeks for this. Blessed is he who longs for this. Blessed is he who is touched by this. If you should awaken before tomorrow, into the full realization of seeing this within yourself, may the whole world flourish because you are one with that glory beyond the universe. So, I leave you with the silent voice that speaks without words:
“I am the wise in wisdom and the wisdom in the wise.
I am the freedom of all things, unbound without ties.”
