spiritual seeing beyond the known

                        Spiritual Seeing Beyond Knowledge

Question:  What is it like to see beyond everyday life?

Adonisare you sure I can see beyond this life?  You know, it takes one to know one.  Now, if you are willing to listen, I will tell you a short incidence that may seem rather mystical.  One day my aunt was talking to me that she is aware that I can see beyond the physical plane.  Well, she kept badgering me to tell her what I see.  So she asked me do I see a ghost in the kitchen.  I said no.  Then she goes, you can't fool me.  I know you can see beyond the normal range.  And then she says, "I know because you are not in your body."  You have been sitting there on that sofa for over an hour and you haven’t moved at all with the hot sun beaming on your back!  So, because of her persistence I told her what I saw at the time.  I pointed at the wall behind the television and said, "He’s there!"  He has been with me for the past few days.  And she said, "What does he look like."  I said, well, like the others, he smiles at me a great deal.  And he’s wearing a turban.  After a little while, I stood up and my body became still, completely erect.  The top of my head felt like I just submersed it upward into this cloud.  I could see a whole otherness to this life.  Then the next day, I had come home and opened the front door but I couldn’t enter the house.  My whole countenance was so bright and intense that I couldn’t fit into the house!  It was like trying to get the fullness of the moon into the door.  I had to stay outside until this immensity subsided.

Question:  All the religions of the world depend on belief and faith.  They say all you have to do is believe in their savior who is the only one that can point to the truth and if you also believe, you will have salvation.  Is that true?

Adonis:  You can say that about anyone or anything.  But, that’s all words without meaning.  All the religions say they point.  Must you chase every craze?  Awake and need no one today or ever.  We are each on our own.  Salvation is within you.  Look nowhere else.  Why look outside oneself for the truth?  Can the Christ awaken you?  Can the Buddha or anyone else awaken you?  None have!  So, look within and not to anyone so you may see for yourself.

Question:  Why does it seem so hard to awaken to life beyond death?  It seems to me that finding truth seems very fleeting and rather a rare event in history.

Adonis:  I must concern you, before we go deeper; I have no interest in telling or convincing anyone of anything.  We are here to find out, together.  Perhaps I have climbed the mountain of this life and discovered something truly sacred, but that which is revealed in me, cannot be put into words.  So it is like climbing down from that mountain and instead of telling you what I see, I am saying come climb with me.  Let us take the journey together.  Do you understand?  I am only a finger that points, gives guidance but not persuasion of any kind.  Is that clear?

Now, when you ask this question, if there is such a thing called god, where did this eternal energy come from.  Understand that if truth came from something it would have a source and a cause.  If it came from somewhere or something other than itself, it would not be the eternal truth.  Therefore, it is its own mystery.  This mystery cannot be solved by mere words.  It is the ultimate mystery of all.  This essence is not a thing.  It is pure nothingness in which the mind cannot take hold of and put it away into its memory and say, “I know.”  It is not something that the mind can grasp.  It is the unknown.  This eternal essence does not move and yet all movement comes from it.  This source is formless and yet it gives birth to all form.  This Supreme Being is beyond ones imagination, dreams and intimations.  This glory is so great it glorifies itself.  Even man’s prayers, adorations and praises can not reach THAT.

Throughout all the world religions, man is worshipping himself.  Man is worshipping an image it has formed and carved within the mind.  To awaken to this, you must die within.  That cannot come to you as long as you are full of yourself.  When you are completely empty within, that may come, uninvited, unknowingly, like a thief in the night of your being.  You can not wait for it, conjure it or provoke it to be revealed within you.  It comes of its own.  All you can do is be empty, devoid of self and completely opened.  So all one can do is look, listen and be completely vigilant.

There is no belief, formula or world religion that holds the key to unlock this mystery.  My friend, it is very simple.  Just turn around and look within.  You must ask who or what is this entity within that is seeking.  The seeker, which is the 'me,' is of the known.  It is forever trapped in the known as the past trying to project itself into the future.  So that, which it seeks, is its own fantasy and falsity.  This seeker is the sought.  But out of ignorance, it doesn’t realize it.  The seeker, which is a movement of the known, is forever locked within its own limitations.  It can never find what it is looking for; the unknown.  The seeker is its own impasse.  It is locked and blocked by its own ignorance.  The word ignorance means to ignore, to not look and see for one oneself.  The seeker is his own enemy and stands in its own way.  Therefore, all it can do is realize this fact and come to rest.  When it is at rest, completely still, then perhaps one may go beyond ones own limitations.

The seeker is of time.  All thought is of the past which is time based.  The thinker is past and future based.  The seeker is of space.  There is distance between one thought and another.  The seeker is division and separation, never whole.  The seeker is of causation.  Because there is memory, there is the seeker as thought.  There is cause and effect.  There is this because of that.  So to discover the Divine, the Truth, that which is not of time, the seeker can not be trusted.  It is suspect and not to be trusted at all.  Then we are left with only one thing, to see within, devoid of the conscious self, the seeker, which is filled with its innumerable beliefs, opinions and abstractions.  Now in the understanding of all this, what is there for one to do?  We are so accustomed to doing something.  Is there anything I can do to see this, to bring such a realization into being?  As we have said, any movement I make as the seeker, I am in fact clouding perception.  In order for me to see, there has to be clarity, unadulterated clarity to see.  Surely, if I am at all serious to discover something beyond myself, I must come to an end.  What does that mean?  What ends?  Is there an actual entity within me that has ever even existed in the first place?  So when one asks, what ends, I don’t want to prejudice the question and assume it has any existence in the first place.  Which means, is the self mortal or immortal?  As we have probed so far, obviously it is mortal, it is limited.  Because what I am, an entity composed of thought which is matter, I am trapped in mortality.  Therefore, that which is born must come to an end, it must die.  Is this the end of me, the end of man?  While one is living, can you die to see beyond death, to see beyond this life?  Is this the secret doorway of all the enlightened beings?  Let us find out.  Let us be vigilant and not complacent.  So, we are asking, can I as a human being come to an end?

The seeker is a product of time and must invest more and more in the continuity of time.  So we are now asking; can I come to an end?  Can I end all time-space and distance within me?  Is this death, psychological death?  Is this the secret in which the so-called holy beings were pointing to and all the world religions failed to understand?  Because of not having the understanding, they defaulted into beliefs and superstitions.  Because of not knowing, they believed instead.  So all the world religions are based on a lie.  They are all based on fiction and pretention.  Is this the wrong road man has been traveling for so long?  Will you discover the truth within you and become a living flame that burns away all that is false in this world?  To do so, you must discover the source of all living and non-living things.  Is there an energy that is whole, eternal and truly sacred?  These questions are not to be answered verbally or nonverbally.  You must look within yourself and that seeing is its own revelation.  The ultimate truth can not be told and that is truly a very beautiful thing to understand.
