The End of Brutality and the Beginning of Peace
All over the world, there is conflict between divisions. Our attachment to a particular belief brings contrast between races, religions and political parties. I really do not know why you belong to any kind of belief. Actually, I do understand that you are afraid to stand alone. Do you ever question why you belong and uphold a particular belief, idea or cause that breeds conflict between man and man? Why are we so divided in this world? Is it because we are divided within ourselves?
Awaken spiritual peace within your own heart.
Throughout history, have we ever known peace? We live in the supposition that peace is our goal while our daily living is brutality. The idea of peace is an illusion carved within the cruelty we live each day. We speak of peace to gain more power to maintain our vicious, destructive living. Do you not see the absurdity in all this? To pursue peace is violence. The idea of peace is a contradiction to what we are. How can a vicious human being know peace? A man or woman of violence may have an idea of what peace is, but that is not actually peace. Does violence know what peace is, or is there only peace when violence comes to a complete end within you?
Through means of reward and punishment, various methods to coerce, persuade and tempt man to change his ways have failed. The fact is, we are selfish, brutal, cruel human beings. We are full of hate, arrogance, jealousy and fear. Our inward life is in turmoil and that breeds conflict in the outer world. Is there a difference between the inner and outer state of man? If I fail to end brutality within me, how can I end brutality in the world? Are they two different movements or the same expressions of different dimensions? What will it take for us to change, completely? Is there an end to violence, actually? What is most important is that we must face the fact of what we are. Within each of us, there is division, which causes discrepancy. We must see that as long as there is attachment within us, this clinging creates disharmony and chaos. We have failed to live in harmony within ourselves and with each other. To break this cycle of brutality, all desire for peace must be completely eradicated. The desire for peace is the continuity of cruelty. This is really quite simple. To realize this, there has to be a complete understanding of the birth, movement and cessation of violence.
Spiritual peace is beyond the mind.
For as long as I am a brutal, insensitive human being, I do not know what peace is. This is a fact. To be violent is to be in conflict with ones environment. Look at what we are doing to the animals, the trees, the rivers and ourselves. Of course, this is not harmony. Why are we in conflict with life? We have no relationship with anyone or anything around us, not only with one another outwardly but also within oneself. We have no relationship with our fellow man, nature or the universe. We must question why we are so destructive, lost and indifferent. What will bring about an actual change in us? Are we going to destroy the whole world and ourselves? We are all responsible for this earth and its outcome. So I ask you to look within to find out, is there an intelligence that transcends all this destructive way of living? Is there something truly sacred, which can transform the whole heart and mind of man? Is there a complete transformation that brings an end to all the hostility and fear within you? Only by awakening to that intelligence, can you change the whole world before we destroy us all.
