Question:  Why do people ask you for relationship advice and then when you point things out to them for their own good and how they need to be so they're respected, and then they go and tell their partner what you said to them about it?  Then you become the enemy in their eyes.  Seriously, why do they waste time even asking?  They're so insecure that they need validation from the one that's hurting them. I have no sympathy for these kinds of people at all.  Obviously, you are a better person than me for pointing things out to others.

Adonis:  Because from their standpoint you are going against their emotional desires.  You are speaking to them logically, sanely, rationally.  But, our emotions are completely out of control.  If you understood the full working of the subconscious that is actually running our life, it would scare you to death.  The subconscious is like a little child.  It doesn't know how to reason.  It simply follows its programming.

They tell their lovers because they are scared of losing them.  So they try to show him or her how loyal they are and how honest they are and hopefully he or she will see them differently; hopefully not pathetically. But it only makes them look just as pathetic.  They are trapped in the die-heart romantic mentality thinking if I'm overly nice and sweet, they will stay with them.  How sad.  So you come along and tell them things that are contrary to what they want to hear and of what their emotions tells them.  The fact is, they never pay attention to the truth of their lives.

You see, there is a saying that goes; insanity can be defined as, repeating the same old thing getting the same results and failing to see the difference in order to change it.  Basically, we are told how life should be and we fail to see how it actually is.

Question:  I must ask you, just due to the mere fact that I must use my intellect; which is built of past experiences, to understand, does that mean that I have to use the past to unlock this perception?  Because simply looking at mere words is an act of the intellect.  Without the past, words have no meaning.  Therefore, what you are saying has no meaning.  Could this be true?

Spiritual Truth Beyond The Intellect

Adonis:  Are you sure you have to use your intellect to probe into this?  I am not so sure.  Let us look into this, deeply.  Perhaps, one must think this through, ponder and examine using words but I question if ultimately the intellect will be the catalyst to bring us to the fullness of understanding.  Do you ever notice when you understand something, there is a certain silence involved?  Is understanding silence?  When we truly understand something what do we mean?  Do we mean we see, holistically?  So I ask, is there I a seeing beyond the intellect?  This means, we may use the intellect and at the same time be aware of its limitations.  Do you see the full implications of this?  When you ask, will the intellect unlock this perception; it is the right question to ask.  Then let us look into it, deeply.  I don’t want to move away from it.  Let us just reflect on it for a moment.  Can the intellect, which itself is trapped by time as the past, which you said it is and I see that, can it bring about any kind of freedom?  Can it free the mind or is itself the prisoner of mind?  So what we are saying is we must be free of the past and all its entanglements.  That is obvious.  If we are going to take a journey within, we must travel very lightly or else we won’t get very far.  All the loaded weight of the past must be subjugated so that we may see clearly.  Now we are asking; is there a perception that is not a formulation of the intellect?  With our intellect, with our thoughts; we can see only so far.  Within the confines of our knowledge.  Knowledge, which is the aftermath of past experiences accumulated, is itself bound.  So we ask deep questions like; what is god?  Why does the intellect try to respond at all?  Can the intellect, we are asking, find god if there is such a thing?  If it can not, then we are at an impasse.  All our lives we have used our intellect in one way or another and every aspect of our lives.  And now we are presented with a question that calls for a wholly different response.
