spirituality on prayer

Question:  Many people say that prayer changes things, is this true?

Adonis:  What do you mean by prayer?  Above all, what or who do you pray too?  The Christians pray to Jesus Christ.  The Buddhist pledge to Buddha and the Hindu to their many Gods.  Now, to pray means to petition and mostly it means you are begging a so-called higher power for the things you need and want.  If you look at it closely, you will see the absurdity to it all.  The self, the image in which you think you are is asking and pleading to another image in which you have carved out of your own fears and desires.  Man has created god in his own image and formulated a path to that image.  With his endless prayers, devotions and ceremonies he ceaselessly pleads to change the state of his fate and that of the world.  This bleak world of sorrow, we have unknowingly created ourselves, and then we try to undo it, blindly.  So, we are trapped in a vicious circle of not understanding ourselves and therefore fail to change the world and ourselves.

Question:  Do you have a religion?

Adonis:  What would I do with a religion?  Which one has meaning?  Christianity, Buddhism, Islam or Hinduism?  They all divide man within and without.  As I have said so often, a religious human being does not have a religion.  Why is it you do not look at something holistically and be free of it completely?  All religions with their various forms of worship, faiths and beliefs, which obviously blind the heart and mind of man, lead nowhere.  With all the religions of the world, no one says all this religious dealing, does not have any meaning.  No one is willing to say it.  That is why I say it is all a monstrous business of deception.  I come and I do say it without fear or hesitation.  You may belong to one religion with all its scriptures of incongruity, someone else belongs to another with all its hypocrisy and yet neither of you discover the truth.  So what is the use of it?  All your life you have followed and searched for the truth in your scriptures and beliefs and still you are lost.  Surely, all religions are a form of escapism that leads you deeper into the darkness of ignorance and never to the light of immortality.
