spiritual quest of life
The Journey Ends
Have you ever climbed a mountain? At the very beginning of such a venture, there is the desire of reaching the peak of that mountain which creates the momentum. The feeling that one may reach the top of the world creates the challenge and the desire to persist. Just the same, like climbing the great mountains of the earth, there is another mountain, our very own consciousness. It is this mountain that one must traverse, in order to discover whether there is something beyond this life.
What will spark us to explore into the consciousness of man and discover its many wonders? Certainly, it is curiosity that wants to understand what the mystery of life is, is it not? What will drive you to inquire into this? Perhaps, it is the search to discover who you are or the desire to find the end of all sorrow.
This mountain we call the mind is truly complex or is it? Is it steep, full of perilous curves and crevices? Perhaps, our daily life from sunrise to sunset is a testament to that. To explore into something as simple or complex as this, we must pursue it with great care so that we do not get lost and forget our intention, which is to go beyond the conscious boundaries in order to understand ourselves.
Do you know what it means to think? What is the thinking process? We may each have different thoughts, of different interests, but the fact is, we all think. That is our human inheritance. Possibly, our full capacity to think is what makes us distinct from the animal. Our consciousness, with its thoughts, emotions, and fears is the mountain we must climb and inquire into so we may understand ourselves. The movement of our consciousness through the process of thought must be understood so that we may go beyond its infrastructure. As long as the thinking process, with the self' as the tour guide is not arrested, you will never reach ones true destination.
Spiritual Meditation Transcends All Knowledge
If we continue to utilize knowledge as the instrument, because of its limitations, it becomes our very own impasse. Please, do see this and you will save yourself a great deal of time, mind and energy. When you see clearly, that all knowledge, rather the so-called sacred or profane, can never go outside the infrastructure of knowledge, you will no longer have the mentality of wanting more knowledge in order to find the sacredness of all things. What we must discover is that, this 'self,' which is a construction of the thinking process, is the wrong instrument. What necessitates us to see this? Our endless search for something beyond knowledge and this life is futile. There is nothing for us to do. Any action, using the conscious 'self' is counter-productive to our pursuit. You are the very obstacle that stands in the way. In the light of understanding all this, the conscious 'self' and its movements dissolves without effort. When the power of awareness burns out the 'self' and its limitations, there is nothing for you to do. In that awareness, one learns the art of quietude. In this stillness, there is that spiritual peace that awakens something within you, unexpectedly. This total stillness is the threshold to a new beginning in which the journey ends, the skies open and the realization of that spiritual immensity is just there.
