Insights of Immortality

(A private dialogue between Adonis and a small group of inquirers.)

Question:  For my first question, pertaining to perception, how do you know if something actually is or it is just a superficial idea formed by the self?

Adonis:  You must enter the realm of perception first and all your questions will be answered.  Step out of the darkness by seeing and observing ones life from moment to moment and all will be clear.   Total vanquishing of the self is the awakening of perception.  The cloudiness of your life ends when the wholeness of perception awakens before you.  This effortless perception is the witness beyond the self that is forever watching, listening to all and everything.  It is complete surrender if you are deeply interested in letting go.  Surely, the only way to find out if something is the correct action is for perception to come into being here and now.  Thinking and analyzing will only lead you to answers that are limited and conditioned based on the past and therefore merely reactions.  When perception acts, all is true and complete action.

Question:  The other day you said, 'when there is clarity, contentment comes without a cause.'  Now when you say without a cause, please tell me what do you mean exactly by it being effortless?

Adonis:  No effort and no cause, meaning nothing for you to do.  You are out of the picture all together.  It is to be free of all ideas and all concepts about perception.  When there is the totality of perception, 'you,' are completely vanquished.  You are not consciously there at all!  When you are not, then the totality of consciousness functions within you.  To see and live in the wholeness of perception is truly momentous.  In perception, which is neither a state nor non-state, the mind is free of all problems and confusion. When we are confused, the mind comes into play wanting to select what to do.  It wants and needs to use choice, so-called free will.  Now, as long as we are confused our mind is tethered and anchored to problems of every kind.  When our perception is whole, there is no need to choose.  Choice comes from a lack of perception.  Be free my friend and all will be clear.

Question:  Tell me, whether or not the more contented I am or seem to become does that mean that the more perception is coming into being, into my everyday life or is it just that I am going within this life?

Adonis:  For there to be contentment, the mind must be free and liberated. Surely, when our perception is clear and whole there is contentment without a cause.  Now, why do you use the word, more?  You are still thinking that you have to bring something into being.  Contentment comes when you are absent.  There is no grey area.  You are either contented or you are not.

Question:  You see, between my husband and me there is so much love and I know that.  However, to be honest, this love is what keeps us together, because if not I would have been long gone, but I am not satisfied in many areas in my marriage.  Many times, I feel that I am too much of a woman for him.  I did not feel this way with my first husband, but with this husband, I do. With my first husband, I felt that he was rather possessive and treated me like a daughter instead of a wife.  Sometimes I just do not know what to do.  Can you go into this with me?

Adonis:   If you are not happy in your relationship, why not change it instead of decaying slowly within it?  If there is no love there, whether there was in the past is rather irrelevant.  That is how I feel about everything.  If you are not happy with anything and it causes you misery why not look deep into it and find out if it has any meaning.  As long as you are miserable, you will bring misery into the world.  Now in order for you to change completely you must see clearly and that clarity will act.  This means you do not decide to stay or leave.  Let the clarity of seeing point the way.  Only then can you be free and whatever direction your life takes will be the correct one.

Question:  You have a very deep grasp of words and their usage.  Will I have that ability to express myself when I awaken?  When you use the word love, is it a feeling or something else?

Adonis:  Why concern yourself so much with words; they will come of their own accord when you see clearly.  Foremost, discover that sacred essence in which words cannot describe.

I simply love without reason in which there is no choice.  Like the sun shining in the sky, I am love, I am life.  Not sort of, but actually.  There is no one in this body or mind.  It is completely empty, void.  Within me, there is not a sound.  Because my head is empty, that living presence comes without knocking, without calling and without an appointment.

Question:  I feel so special in your life; it is a breath of freshness to dialogue with you.  You have a very broad vocabulary therefore, you are very selective and precise with your words and how you speak.  Well, I am still learning to use the correct vocabulary.  However, I am not intimidated.  Actually, I am overwhelmed with so much knowledge to absorb and my heart is content to have the privilege to have met you.  I love how you point.  You are a great master and teacher, do not forget it!  I will always praise you as long as I live on planet earth.

Adonis:  It is such a delight to dialogue into this thing called life.  Please, feel free to ask me whatever you desire.  Even if it is a million questions. That is the only way you will find your rhythm in life where there is complete integration of your whole being.  Personally, I waited twelve years before really pointing this out to anyone.  This was like my internship in private before going public.  I first started giving dialogues with a few associates, asking and answering questions that most would probably inquire about in this life.  I tend to lean towards fundamental questions that are common for all of us.

Perhaps, you may discover there is no one for you to help, only an illusion to see through.  The greatest help is to step out of this false life and enter the real.  Then, you will discover everything that needs to be done.

Understand that the entity that I am speaking of is yourself.  You must end.  The negation of you is renunciation.  There is no such thing as renunciation from society, when in fact; you are the chaos of society.  I can take you to the door that is freedom from all disorder, but you must enter.  Enter now, by seeing the fact that the self is the darkness.  Empty your cup so that you may be fulfilled.  End this darkness and that Glory will enter your whole being and that is the fulfillment.

It is vital that we go into this, not in speculation but in actuality.  Simply listen and observe without any resistance.  Let whatever is happening in and around you take place without any reaction.  Let life flow of its own accord.  The sacred must come when you are completely empty and void within.  You must be empty from the very start.  You are either completely open or you are not.  What is important is to listen and watch the noise of your brain which is the heart of your existence.  When at once you are truly quiet, within the totality of perception, the mind is still.  To live in this stillness, in this silence, all life is.  In the here and now, when the self is not, there is pure being beyond all things.

To be captivated in the endless movement of becoming something other than what you are, the self can never be free.  The self is a movement of inadequacy and ignorance.  Because it is a thing of causation, it is not the real.  The self can never be in the here and now.  This self is the living dead.  This self, that you think you are, is the resurrection of the dead past which haunts and distorts our perception of the present moment, clouding the pristine essence of life, preventing the revelation of the truth.

Question:  I am understanding so much.  What you say makes a lot of sense, but I must put it into practice.  When you say that once perception is awaken the mystery of life must come, do you mean, the spiritual energy of life must come into our everyday life, without us having to do anything in particular?

Adonis:  It is very simple.  All our problems come into being because of a lack of perception.  Awaken perception and all will be clear without you doing anything.  However, you must awaken perception first and all else will be added on to you.  Do you not see how simple this is?  Understand that we must do it and not just talk about it.  Listen and observe your consciousness completely.  Just listen, observe.  Can you just look, that is all?  Simply listen and observe in the fullness of perception of every aspect of your life.  There is nothing unique about what I am saying.  When at once you awaken to that perception, the mystery of life reveals its vastness.

Negation of the self is crucial for the sacredness to come.  The self is a false thing occupying the temple of your being.  How can the sacred enter your temple when you are occupied with noise, darkness and chaos?  There is no grey area in this.  It is one or the other.  Either one is intoxicated with God or oneself.  In the negation of the self, which is a false entity, the sacred essence comes within your very being.

Question:  When you say in the clarity of perception the self must dissolve, do you mean in the midst of dissolving the self that the self does not have a clue of this physical plane?  When you say observe myself, I am to observe my feelings, thoughts and images, yes?  I am sure we have spoken about this before, but in the path of perception, I notice the self tends to repeat the same questions repeatedly.  Can you tell me why?

Adonis:  Now, when I use the word perception I am going beyond the senses.  The totality of perception is pure awareness, awake and fully alert.  I am only concerned with the wholeness of perception beyond the limitations of the mind and no-mind.  For there to be perception there cannot be a perceiver.  When there is the perceiver then 'you' are there.  When you are there, there is division, chaos and confusion.  Observe yourself without judgment, without correction and acceptance.  Just observe.  In the clarity of perception, the self dissolves.  (It must dissolve in the totality of perception, because the lack of perception is the illusion.)  Therefore, you simply correct the crisis at the very root.  The illusion of duality came into being because of the lack of perception.  Realize the negation of this separative outlook on life through non-dual perception is paramount.  It takes no effort at all.  You, do nothing.  Just let the listening and watching of effortless meditation take place.

Take a glimpse within the working of the mind, just for a moment.  Now, if you are intelligent and have been listening to all that we have been saying, whenever the mind is making any noise, there is this intense watchfulness of every thought, every emotion and every image without any desire to correct, accept or reject anything that comes to the mind.  If a thought comes, this intense perception watches it from the beginning, during and end.  Even the space before the thought, the space between the thought and the space at the end of the thought.  There is this aliveness of perception that does not condemn, judge, hold, accept or reject any thought or feeling.  It only witnesses the happening.  There is no ‘me’ doing anything.  Then without effort, the mind becomes perfectly still and quiet.  There is no perceiver, only the fullness of perception.  You may call this meditation because there is no person within the body that is meditating.  In fact, there is no one at all.  Then you discover that the essence of meditation is the chink in the psychological armor of the ego-entity that destroys all darkness.

Now, since we have gone this deep, let us go even deeper.  The concepts and ideas dictated throughout the world about meditation are false.  He, who meditates, obviously knows nothing about meditation.  It is the art of meditation without a meditator.  As long as there is a person, a personality or an identifying thinker that is meditating then meditation cannot come into being.  Simply watch without resistance, observe every thought-feeling without interference.  Then you discover the perceiver is the perceived.  Then there is oneness.  In this realization, all thought-feelings dissolve and the perception that is beyond the mind and no-mind, which is composed of the perceiver and the perceived, come without admonition. That peace comes with complete understanding beyond words, theories and ideologies.  It is to end completely without a trace of you remaining.  There are no remains, a total ending of the illusion of division and darkness.  To see this is to realize that there is nothing for you to accumulate as experience or knowledge.  All you are doing is negating the false, by seeing the self for what it is, so the truth may be revealed within you.  Like a sculptor cutting away at the harden marble until his masterpiece of creation is revealed.  It is to discover what may already be there.  It is through meditation that the darkness of the self is cast aside so the radiance of love, beauty and bliss may come forth in all its glory.

Without warning, the mind goes into this stillness.  Nothing, not a sound, no movement.  When there is nothing, you are spotless.  A holistic seeing into all things comes into being.  It is like the whole universe and everything in life is within you.  This clarity of perception comes into being when the mind is not.
