                          spiritual enlightenment beyond fear

If I were to ask you, what is fear; perhaps you will give me a definition of what you think fear is.  Now I wonder do you realize that the word fear and its definitive meaning, no matter how descriptive, is not fear.  When there is fear, there is a certain expectancy of harm and alarm, correct?  What must concern us all, as human beings, is the total freedom from fear.  Understand that such fear has no meaningful place in our lives.  In fact, fear is a psychological disease that is destroying the very intelligence of humanity.

As long as I am enthralled by the claws of fear, my life is tainted and unfulfilled.  When there is fear, there is distortion, and therefore a lack of perception.  As long as the mind clings to this self that thinks, feels and lives, know that you will be forever haunted by fear.  This phantom called the I, me, self, is the culprit that breeds and projects fear.  In fact, the self is fear.  Unbeknown to you, you are the fear.  Because of ignorance, the mind being divided does not see this fact, so it is captivated by the projection of the fiction of fear.

Spiritual Perception Beyond Meditation

As long as you are trying to escape from the facts of your life, fear is imminent.  It is the escaping from life in which fear creates its energy and strengthens its illusion.  Therefore, when you face fear it loses its stronghold.  To truly look into fear and see it for what it is you discover for yourself that it is ones own creation.  When you see that you have created the fear, you have the power to destroy it by seeing it for what it is.  At the center of all fear there is thought.  Thought is the root of fear.  In the absence of thought, is there fear?  When you see through something that is causing problems, its power over you must end.  To see the truth of this, you must watch the working of your own mind without resistance.  Watching every thought and emotion without condemning or justifying what arises in your consciousness.  Observe the fear without naming it fear.  With keen watchfulness, just observe every thought and emotion arising and moving within you so that you may understand what it is.   Let whatever intimation of mind rise and fall without resistance.  Then you will notice that you are able to watch every thought and the space between each thought, effortlessly.

In the heart of fear, the self, which is the crystallization of thought, is the core.  As long as you are bound by the idea of being a conscious entity, divided within yourself, then you will be forever imprisoned by trepidation.  A heart and mind confined by fear is obviously distorted and confused.  Fear, which is a form of sorrow, is an infectious disease of the mind that contains the basic desire of spreading and continuity.

Spirituality Dissolves Fear In Meditation

Most of us, as human beings, live in one form of fear or another.  Whether one is afraid of yesterday, tomorrow, success or failure.  Irrespectively, of the various branches of fear, realize that at the very root of fear, there is the movement of thought and its division.  Because there is division in you, there is division and separation in the world.  Therefore, in the world we try to unite and live in unification.  The desire to unite is a continuity of division.  For that which is divided can never be whole.  This is the vast illusion of the self and its absurd response to solve the error of its own creation.  It can only divide, separate and form greater pieces of the problems.

Out of ignorance, the self does not see that it is the villain that it is seeking.  This self is like a cop searching for a criminal not understanding that he is the criminal that he is seeking.  This means, the only response is the total extinction of the self.  In the very negation of ones’ self, which is thought, there is no fear.  This charade of self is formulated out of the failure to simply look and listen.  There is fear when you fail to penetrate the facts of ones life.  The fact is, the image that you think you are is false and you are taking it as truth.  To take a false thing as true is a lack of knowing oneself and what you truly are.  Therefore, in your continuity to escape the facts of your life, you are bound to fear and anxiety.

When there is fear and all its anticipation, there is no love.  Fear is the absence of love and beauty.  To understand the immediate need of being free of fear is the urgency of the present moment in which fear cannot enter.  Fear is a hindrance that prevents and destroys the pristine clarity of the present moment.  The cause of fear is you, and when the self is not, the effect of fear vanquishes.  Now to be free of fear is the death of the self and all the poison it entails.  In seeing the falsity of this ego-self, which is composed of thoughts, emotions and ideas, the thinker must come to an end.  This thinker is the very center of every dilemma of ones life.  The 'I-me-self' is the core of all our problems and fears.   Through death, the ending of the self, is the door in which the medicine of all life comes.  Factually, the ending of you, awakens that sacred essence in which nothing can touch or destroy.  You may say that, to discover the truth or falseness of the self is a movement of meditation.  Not the meditation that you practice as a particular discipline, escape or mental exercise of self-protectiveness.

The Spiritual Awakening Comes

The very learning and seeking of what you are requires a certain freedom to see life 'as is.'  Right from the start there has to be a certain insight into the core of fear.  After all, it is fear that prevents and distorts clarity, which is at the heart of meditation.  In spirituality, one must understand meditation is to realize there is nothing for you to do.  Besides, anything that you do is a movement of fear and desire.  In meditation, there is this watchfulness that flows without analyzing, conceptualizing and directing.  Let whatever fear, desire and idea flow throughout the mind without the slightest intent of changing whatever arises and falls.  Then, without effort, you will understand what it means to end thought and fear when all the movements of the mind are arrested of all its content, effortlessly.  In that stillness and quietude, where is fear?  The answer, no one can give to you, because truth cannot be told.  Truth is revealed in the resplendence of non-dual perception.  It is the realization within the silence of your being.  This supreme silence is beyond the mind.  If you are alert, you will discover that this quietude has no beginning and no end.  It is this infinite silence that is untouched by time, person, place or thing.  An endless stillness of peace, free of the unrest and darkness of fear.  Only in this are you truly living, holistically.
