The Fear of Death
It is in the event of a love ones passing, we are faced with our own mortality. At a time like this, do we laugh and joke pretending we are not afraid? Do we mourn for the one who is gone when in fact it is our own eventual demise we are weeping for inside? The realization is that someday each of us will pass away when death comes for us. It does not matter what you believe or disbelieve. It does not matter how rich or poor you are. It does not matter whether you are young or old. It does not matter if you are sick or well. The truth is someday you will die. So, I ask you, why do we concern ourselves so much with death? Is it because we are not truly living our lives, abundantly? Is there life after death? Is there something truly sacred beyond this life? If you are at all serious, you must look into this with great clarity. These are actual problems of our existence we must face. We must face these problems, not according to any faith, belief or philosophical allegation. What is important is to just look and question everything without the intention of reaching a preconceived conclusion. How do we solve such deep-rooted problems when we do not know ourselves at all? What does it mean to know oneself so that we may discover the answers to such fundamental questions? Surely, it is to see and listen to yourself, your actions and reactions, which is a movement of self-knowing. In the perception of seeing ones life clearly, something new comes into being. It is to find out who you are. It is to discover if there is immortality for man. No one can lead you to the infinite. Through death as one is living, salvation comes in all its glory. Let death of the ‘self’ come and see for oneself what is beyond. Do not accept what you have heard about death. It profits you nothing to believe and theorize about things you do not know. Death is the cessation of you, your thoughts, fears, emotions, desires, and attachments and so on. In the understanding of oneself, where is death? What happens when all that ends while you live? Then you may see for yourself what death is or is not, actually. The complete change and transformation born of death is nothing to fear when you discover the truth of yourself in reality. In fact, it is the fact of change in which we tremble and run in fear to escape our outcome. After all, what is this flesh? Am I this physical body, which is of the earth? If I am this body then surely I will die. The fear of death will forever cast a gloom of despair over my head. As long as I identify myself as being this flesh, this body, of course I will live in fear.
Spiritual fulfillment is eternal presence awaken within.
It is through the power of seeing and observing your ‘self’ from moment to moment, the understanding of yourself comes into being. This is the art of understanding yourself and a deep inquiry into what is life. Question everything so you may see for yourself, accepting nothing except that in which you see and understand. Self-knowledge is the groundwork of wisdom. It is only in your own realization that salvation is born of grace. Only by looking within yourself will you see that living Glory, in which nothing can touch, not even death. That which is born must die. This truth I see clearly. No one can tell you this. You must realize it within yourself. Because I am not this body, I fully realize I was never born and I will never taste death. It is up to you to understand that we all came forth of that eternal essence and to that sacredness, we must all return. It is to live your life simple and free of the suffering of the world. It is to live without worry and anguish. Salvation is to overcome all sorrow, including the idea of death. Now, by the grace of the divine, we may awaken through deliverance, to live in the sacredness, the source of all things, eternally. Spiritually, may you love and rest in the sacred peace of immortal bliss.
